Brighton & Hove City Council Boundary Consultation

Message from Cllr Bella Sankey, Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council

Brighton & Hove City Council has today launched a public consultation on potential changes to local government boundaries, in line with a government request for proposals across Sussex.

Some of the proposals includes Kingston merging Brighton & Hove. We’ve included it because of the area’s proximity to the city and the everyday links that already exist. But we know that Kingston is a distinct and valued community, and this is a conversation we want to approach with care and respect.

No decisions have been made. We want to hear from residents and local leaders about whether any of the ideas feel right and what concerns or opportunities you think we should consider.

You can find the consultation information and survey here:

We’re also holding a public meeting on Friday 1 August at 6pm at St Martin’s Church Hall, Longridge Avenue, Saltdean. Residents and councillors are warmly welcome.
